The Hunger Games Director
The Hunger Games is nearing picking a director
The Hunger Games Movie
The Hunger Games movie is in production and expected to be released in 2012. The movie will be a film presentation based on the Young Adult fiction series authored by Suzanne Collins. The movie rights were acquired by Lionsgate movie studios in March 2009.
The Hunger Games is the first book in a trilogy by Collins, who will also be adapting the screenplay. The second novel in the trilogy is titled Catching Fire and the third novel which released on August 24, 2010 is titled Mockingjay.
The movie is scheduled to begin production 2011. Author Suzanne Collins wrote the script for the movie and screenwriter Billy Ray will review and polish it. Ray is the screenwriter who is set to adapt televison series 24 to a movie.
Nina Jacobson has been named as the movie’s producer but the director has not yet been selected.
